Snubs Golden Globes

This year female directors were not included in the nominations. There is a number of great films this year by female directors.

Network television did not receive a lot of nominations this year. This may be the time for television to reevaluate the future shows.

The big film snub is Mary Poppins for the best original song. This was expected to top the nomination. Paddington film did not receive one nomination. Ryan Gosling’s performance in First Man was not recognized with a nomination for best actor. First Man left out of best director and best drama. Highly acclaimed film Widows received no nominations.

Surprises Golden Globes

Vice took home the top number of nominations with six.

A Star Is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody films about music took on drama nominations instead of musical. Green Book brought in nominations even their critics agree they are a strong duo. The Handmaids Tale is a nice surprise for Hulu.
