Emmys 70th Party Red Carpet

The Emmys Red Carpet brought a great selection of fashion and personal style. The colors of the evening include blush, rose gold, green, and red. There was a lot of tulle, taffeta, pleats, and prints. The seasonal mix was strong with summer and fall styling and fashion. The fashion is more formal with some daring moments.

Emmys 70th Party Red Carpet Formal

The red carpet is one time to get the glam out and put together a perfect look. There were so many who took the traditional formal look. A few that caught our eye include:

Kristen Bell is wearing Laura Taylor & Ryan Holliday-Stevens. It is straight neckline and sleeves sheer sleek modern and edgy. The styling, Nicole Chavez, includes Forever Mark jewels, a simple sweepback for the hair done by Christine Symond, and makeup Amyoresman with a nude sheer gloss.

Millie Bobby Brown is wearing Calvin Klien. This fun pink print dress is just above the ankle showing off her soft pink pointed kitty cat heels. It is off the shoulder with little bows. She accentuated with gold bracelets and rings, and a simple silver necklace.

Sandra Oh is wearing Ralph & Russo plunging neckline with great texture and glitzy with garnet-colored stones along the plunging neckline, waist and sleeves, hair down, and diamonds on her wrist.

Heidi Klum brings all the stops in Zac Posen pastel peach strapless dress. This is a wonderful gown for her perfect figure. She accessories with a choker necklace from Lorraine Schwartz. Her glam evening tip is to lay down in the car to keep your dress from wrinkling.

Emmys 70th Party Red Carpet Personal Style Moments

Red carpets are always a wonderful time to share your personal style. There are many who take the time to present personal messages, stories, and style. It brings fun and adventure to the red carpet. A few with some personal styling moments:

Tracee Ellis Ross wearing a hot pink voluminous Valentino haute couture. The voluminous fuchsia taffeta looked like a large fluffy floating cloud. A lot of fun. Her eyeshadow is orange with blurred lipstick (a popular trend on the red carpet). Her hair is slicked back curls.
Leslie Jones rocked the red carpet with a Christian Siriano. This colorful pantsuit is a great personal look. Every time she moves the colors change on the pantsuit. The jacket has just one button for a nice peek-a-boo. Her clutch is from Judith Leiber and jewelry Jordan Alexander. Keeping with the fun personal style she is wearing her hair in a modified spiked mohawk. Her eye makeup a smokey eye with a light-toned lip.
Tiffany Haddish brings a personal message to the red carpet wearing a custom gown by designer Prabal Gurung. This dress is an inspiration from the Eritrean flag, the country in northeastern Africa, her father’s home country. The dress is voluminous and fun to twirl around. This dress fits her personality of love and happiness. She is wearing Tattoo earrings with white diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz.

Nnedi Okorafor, Game of Thornes creator, wears art on the red carpet with a hand-painted by V Kottavei Richmond and the dress designer Therez Fleetwood.

Deon Cole continues his tuxedos with bold patterns. This tux by Gucci is in wild patterns. He keeps the traditional bow tie and white pleated wingtip tuxedo shirt.

RuPaul Charles loves the pink suits for the Creative Arts red carpets. 2016 he graced the red carpet in a hot pink polka-dot suit. This year is a solid hot pink suit (a trend color for the red carpet). The Emmys Primetime he wears a white double-breasted suit. He has a classic button-up shirt, pop of color with Calvin’s pointy-toe, tangerine orange Western boots with a Cuban heel. He completes the sex appeal (accessories) with a black clutch and cocktail ring. All suits designed by Calvin Klein. He always states, If you don’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?” He lives this every day in his personal style.

C+ Plus Creative Team

This team brings a talent that brings award-winning fashion to womenswear. This is a collaboration of designer C.T.LIU and CHABER. They bring strong lines, deconstruction, fabric development, and a very modern look to their designs. This is a clothing line that allows women to feel a beautiful, confident, and graceful.

The clothing started in Asia in 2013 where it was labeled one of the Ten Most Successful Brands in Asia. They continued to win awards during Mercedes-Benz Asia Most Potential Asian Designer. This seasons collection continues to be awestruck.

C+ Plus NYFW Runway

This season the collection brings lines. The design with these lines brings an accentuating point for women’s bodies. The bold colors and fabrics are on course with the fashion.

The deconstruction of the clothing brings a dimension and architecture to the clothing. This provides a real art to fashion style, a theme found throughout fashion week. The depth and movement in the deconstruction clothing is inspiring. The use of traditional fashion now takes on a very modern look.

The lines and deconstruction play well on the clothing and a feminine feel. The strong layering continuing depth theme making a great start to pre-spring and early spring fashion. A strong woman is represented well with this collection.

The styling is simple with light makeup and sleeked back hair. The shoes are the trending sneaker that carries over from summer. The formal looks include boots. One model wears tall boots one black and one white with a black and white dress. This is a fun look.

C+Plus is a collection that carries urban, modern, and luxurious.

Lakeith Stanfield looks fantastic in his jacquard suit red suit. He and Tessa Thompson brought the matching co-host to the red carpet. Percy Romeo Miller Jr. looks dapper in his Saint Laurent pink suit. Zendaya brings chocolate to the red carpet. She looks like a caramel filled Hershey’s kiss and pulls it off well. Hostess Tiffany Haddish has fun with her dress on the red carpet. Reminds me of the Easter and you would get that fun frilly dress and want to play and twirl.

Haddish, the first black woman to host the evening, she took a moment to discuss Kim Kardashian’s hair and how that show is a “Star Wars” franchise. The recipients took time to bring the audience to their messages.

Millie Bobby Brown, Best Performance in a Show, recently suffered a knee injury and was not able to attend, had a wonderful video about being nice.
- She says, “Since I know there are many young people watching this, and even to the adults, too — they could probably use the reminder — I was taught, if you don’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say it,”
- She continues, “There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I’m not going to tolerate it and neither should any of you. If you need a reminder of how well you are and to rise above the hate, message me on Instagram.” This is something she is experiencing on social media herself.

Ava Capra joins us on the red carpet at Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala & Awards Show. She graces the red carpet in a gorgeous lace top double slit gown with her best friend Brandon Cole Bailey.

One year ago she was working the challenges on America’s Next Top Models (ANTM). She’s dream was to appear on ANTM and work the runway. There was a height requirement in seasons past. She was just a little shy of the need for the last season. Tyra Banks saw something in the 5’5″ model.

Capra works hard and focuses on the challenges on ANTM. She has a major look change and takes it in stride because this is her dream. She gains a following that loves seeing this young model make her dream come true. This experience is a fabulous opportunity for her. It is heartbreaking for viewers when her time ended too soon on ANTM.

She continues to focus on her goal of modeling and makes it very successful. She says, “I turned to my faith, family, and good friends to pick myself up. I learned a lot about myself and modeling. I knew this was my dream and I love the work.”

Capra has done just that. She graces the runways, the cover of magazines, red carpets and more. She commands the runway as if she is taller than life. Her runway shows have included Art Hearts Fashion Week, Metropolitan Fashion Week, LA Swim Week, and more. She is often called the flower Child Virgin and her flower brand, “Bloom by Ava.”

Her mother, Ann Marie, states, “Ava has worked hard to stay focused, true to herself, and is making her dream come true.” Her mother states it best. Capra during the last year after leaving ANTM accomplishes a lot. Tyra Banks saw something in Capra, but she continues to shows that something special. She brings a strong determination to fashion, runway, commercial, and beauty making her dreams come true.

Beautifully Autistic ~ Autism Awareness La Vie En Blue

This evening brings Autism Awareness to the forefront. Metropolitan Fashion Week and Autism Speaks preset En Blue 2016 Fashion Gala. This evening is to honor the 70 million affected by autism worldwide. The evening filled with glamour, honor, and autism awareness.

Meet Kara Ann, nonverbal autistic, 25% of those on the autism spectrum are nonverbal. She loves Katy Perry, her baby doll, Final Four basketball, and eating. She is the adventurer of the family. This is a look into her world

this video created by her father. He filmed her afternoon activities about 6 years ago. Here family provides exceptional care and love for her daily needs, but the needs will be for the rest of her life.

There is a lifetime need for many families. This support comes through contributions from donors, volunteers, events like this, and corporations. A utism Speaks in Southern California works with the community by providing kits, family services, and leading medical centers.

Autism, a complex developmental disorder from genetic and environmental influences. One in 68 children. The evening raises funds towards family help, research, and advocacy.

Harry Topping Jr. Metro Fashion Week Autism Speaks Warner Brothers

This evening Metropolitan Fashion Week produces an evening with Autism Speaks to honor Harry Topping Jr., Vice President of Corporate Real Estate at City National bank, and Steven Grossman, Talent Manager and Producer at Untitled Entertainment. Topping is honored with the Advocate of The Year. He started the golf tournament, Topping Brothers benefiting autism, after his three son autism diagnosis. Steven Grossman a firm believer his voice, platform, and relationships will strength the awareness and response. He is began working with Autism Speaks after his son’s diagnosis in 2013.

Jeannie Mai, television personality, introduces Steven Grossman. She states, “I will never forget New York Fashion Week FW 2013. This is the time when Steven got the news that his son, Graydon, has autism. The challenges for this family included finances, energy, lack of understanding from society, and understanding special needs. Steven posted this news on social media on July 20, 2013. He exposed one of the most challenging roles of a parent’s life. He did not want his family to feel isolated, unsupported or alone. He recognizes that if we all had a little more sympathy and understanding for families we can create a more harmonious future for our kids. A man who puts his wife and kids first.” Grossman provides awareness with conversation and continued support of Autism Speaks.

Grossman discusses the lessons his family learned from Graydon and his diagnosis. He states, “first be kind to each other. 1 in 42 boys does not mean anything to you if your life isn’t profoundly affected. Lesson two I don’t really know what normal or traditional means anymore in our society. In my family, we’ve started living with greater awareness of all the things we take for granted. With my son, we’ve learned to appreciate simple milestones like his willingness to wear his winter coat without a fight. Lesson three I feel compelled to tell you I’m not even the real hero. Those people are the folks from this charity, the doctors, the ABA and OT therapists, like Jane, Nay, and Amanda that work over 40 hours a week with children like my son. As I told Matt Asner, when he asked me to accept this award, personally didn’t think I did enough yet to deserve it. We went back and forth a bit about it, but I finally agreed that I would earn it. I will graciously and humbly accept this award on your behalf. I will continue to earn it.”

Graydon enjoyed the evening and told reporters about his dinosaurs. As the evening came to a close. He enjoyed the blue runway playing with his dinosaurs with his mother by his side.

The evening filled with exceptional fashion on the blue runway. Designers include Guess Kids, David Tupaz, Delia MacPhee, Sivalia Couture, and Ron Tomson. Many designers present designs in blue, the Autism awareness color. Hosts for the evening Molly Sims, and Kevin Frazier.

The ability to be kind and understanding will help those families, children, and many on the autism spectrum have acceptance and compassion.
