The labeled launched April 2016 in Bangladesh in the heart of the shopping center Concord Colosseum. The launch was well accepted and stated to be, “amalgamation of royal personal expression that is inspired by wanderlust.” Zoan Ash website

Ash bringing her fall-winter 2017 to New York is a dream comes true. This collection brings a richness with the fabric choice, colors, and detailed embellishments and embroidery. Luxurious golds fill the collection from the details to the fabric choice. Each embellishment is well thought out with the design, embellishment, and fabric.

The richness ties back to the labels origination of Bangladesh. The Swarovski crystals, rhinestone, gold and silver ornamentations capture the light at the right location adding a beautiful accent to a woman’s form.

As the snow falls in New York City designers, models, and buyers gather for fall-winter 2017 collections. The runways fill with floral prints, tweed, variations on sleeves, and a little shoulder.

Winter fashion will be beautiful roses in print and embroidery, plaids, and prints. Tadashi Shoji‘s collection presents sheer flowing rose printed gown with a romantic feel. Tadashi Shoji’s collection stays true to his design aesthetics, that tailored to flatter all women adding a confidence and beauty to their fashion.

Adam Selman’s collection is full of the rose trend for fall-winter with embroidered roses. Denim jumpsuits, jackets, and skirts. Adam Selman’s brings a surprise element down the runway. One model with a black veil draping her face carrying a large bouquet of roses and greenery.

Desigual, a brand from Barcelona, brings the ordinary to unique extraordinary with the prints. The intense combination geometric shapes and stories telling prints. This collection brings emotion and a true sensory experience to the collection.

Many collections bring a little shoulder to the winter collections. This adds a nice sex appeal to the designs. Nicholas K is a designed by brothers, Nicholas and Christopher Knuz, they give a soft chic splendid richness to their collection.

Erin Fetherston’s fall-winter collection brings the cold shoulder to the front of the collection. The cocktail dresses and gowns have a 1970s retrospect. The dresses created with chiffon and satin tiers and fringe adding a nice movement and volume. This stays with the whimsical feminine sensibility.

The red trend is found in men and women’s fashion for autumn and winter. This color makes a statement without doing much. The gown for Saturday evening festivities created by Daniel Chimowitz at Nevow Art. Artist Chimowitz creates walking canvases of painted textiles and upcycled clothing. He is a mix medium artist, an American fashion and textile designer.

His intent is to bring art from galleries and museums to the street, as a form of Walking Art. Chimowitz is known for his painted prints and photography. This was a perfect look for this fashion film festival.
The styling, steam punk. This complimented the exceptional art on the gown. Amazon and Michaels where many of the items purchased used to create accessories for this specific look.

This is event closes with a great after party at The Lot with dancing eating, drinking, and reminiscing about the exceptional films.

Badgley Mischka presents a collection at New York Fashion Week. It has been a little while since they had a collection walk the runway. Last year instead of a runway collection they were on a book tour. "Badgley Mischka: American Glamour," we had the honor of meeting with them during this time. They discussed the runway and creating collection. Runway designing compares to a wedding 6 months of really hard work and in five minutes it is over. It is exhilarating to see the full design and styling. Mark Badgley said, “it is like seeing your daughter on her wedding day.” They love the runway part of the fashion world. Badgley Mischka NYFW FW17 This collections takes women back to a time when things were tough and how they power through these times. The collection takes silhouettes from the 1940s. A time in history that required women to power through tremulous times. The collections takes nipped waists, a sense of armor with the use of beads, and jewels, longer hems, and voluminous skirts. They do have the seasonal trends with embroidered flowers, red roses, play with the sleeves, and the color red. There is a real modern pull from the 1940s silhouettes. Badgley and Mischka continue with the tradition of exceptional details. They are known for their beading and embellishments; it is all in the details. The inspiration for their beading comes from jewelry. Many dresses may have up to 30,000 beads, beaded by old men in India. They consider themselves magpies when it comes to their beading collections. This collection included everyday wear from track suits to cashmere coats with sleek pants. The designer did not take from their glamorous woman even with flats. Every woman that wear Badgley Mischka will be super glamorous with comfort and modern sensibility (sizes to 16 on website). This collections adds a sense of empowerment. The day with Badgley and Mischka at the Phoenix Art Museum was filled with passion, fashion, and women from around the world. The entire day was all about the details.

This year marks their silver anniversary in fashion, this month they celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary. “The era that women have to suffer for beauty are bye gone,” they stated. This is the day for super glamorous with comfort and modern sensibility. Badgley and Mischka remained true to their brand and glamour through the decades remembering that women want to look beautiful and young.

They started together at Parsons School of Design in their senior year. Each began designing with different fashion houses. James Mischka works with menswear for WilliWear WilliSmith. Mark Badgley works with Donna Karan. The long hours and commitment to each designer they thought it would be great to create their own business.

The business taught them that there are more than 24 hours in a day, pick what you believe in and dominate the arena, and trusting each other. They decided that they love evening attire even for daytime. This decision has been a benefited their business at times, but not following fashion trends at times has not been the best for their fashion label.

Inspiring designers for the label are Bill Blass, Oscar De La Renta, and Geoffrey Beene. Oscar De La Renta often rode the same elevator. The three would debate who was the best fashion designer back and forth until the doors opened.

Badgley and Mischka Runways

The designers watched old Hollywood films creating their label. They loved the looks of Bette Davies, Rita Hayworth, and Joan Crawford. They continue the old Hollywood film inspiration, even in recent runways.

Runway designing was compared to a wedding 6 months of really hard work and in five minutes it is over. It is exhilarating to see the full design and styling. Mark Badgley said, “it is like seeing your daughter on her wedding day.” They love this part of the fashion world, but it is just a small part of the business.

The recent discussion of competing with fast fashion for fashion houses was discussed. They understand the need for designers like Tom Ford, Burberry , and Rebecca Minkoff to have the see now buy now concept for their brands. It is a great way for them to show something different this season. Their brand and designs do not compete with fast fashion, so that concept is not necessary for their label.

Badgley and Mischka Designs

Their designs are known for their beading and embellishments; it is all in the details. The inspiration for their beading comes from jewelry. Many dresses may have up to 30,000 beads, beaded by old men in India, beading is a dying art. They consider themselves magpies when it comes to their beading collections. Creating the brands signature heirloom beads means: running the beads through the dishwashers hundreds of times or a bath in Drano to achieve this look.

Badgley and Mischka Sketches

Ensuring that the team completes the design comes from mood sketches. These sketches are the key to communicating the details of the gown. They have a signature look to their sketches. Badgley stated, “Mischka’s sketches are not as finely sketched.”

They can speak about each gown with passion. Badgley and Mischka discussed the time they hand dyed a gown for the red carpet and it shrunk. They tied soup cans to the bottom of the dress and flew it across the country. This worked the gown was the right length for the event.

Their gowns have graced celebrities at some of the greatest red carpets. They know each of their clients well and what is working best for their personal image. They are aware of those celebrities that will require the gown custom made or others like Jennifer Lopez that knows she can rock any dress whether designed for her, previously worn, or straight off the runway. They love a woman that can look alluring and feminine in the evening no matter what her look is for the day.

The wedding collection developed from brides wanting their evening wear created to fit their special day. Many would ask to make that evening gown in the tones and beading for their wedding. Badgley and Mischka began designing specifically to meet bridal designs.

The Arizona Costume Institute received a donation from Kate Winslet’s. The 2005 Oscars red carpet dress is a Badgley Mischka design. The gowns on display at the event demonstrated that it is all in the details at Badgley Mischka.

Malan Breton, a fashion designer, brings a story in three chapters for fall-winter 2017. The chapters create a story that flows from New York Fashion Week, to London Fashion Week, and concludes in Los Angeles at Style Fashion Week. The collection brings a complete story from the chapters: Everywhere at the End of Time (New York), Living in the Moment in Fear (London), and Seven Deadly Sins (Los Angels).

The New York chapter is Everywhere at the End of Time. This chapter takes us to the current times in the world now and brings about empowerment. Empowering women and those being poorly treated. The entire show from the dancers, to the opening model, Nykhor Paul bring the story to life.

The runway included celebrities models: Kiera Chaplin (Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter), Frankie Grande, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Dylan Grieco, Mason Grammer, and Janine Tugonon. Each is a part is the weaving of the story about acceptance and hope.

London’s show at Freemasons Hall continues the collections’ story. This chapter is living in the current time of fear and darkness. Taking the color away from you. The loss of color a strong presence on the runway. The opening fabric for this chapter looks like a second skin. The music for the runway is Sleepwalk by Santo & Johnny.

Los Angeles story chapter, the Seven Deadly Sins. This runway brings the story back to hope, light, and empowerment with the use of color. The Phoenix in the triplet chapter story.

The collections’ stories inspiration is the 1930s, the loss of hope and death. The stories draw from Charlie Chaplin‘s 1930 films including City Lights and Modern Times. The collections present the story with perfection in fabrics, treatments, performances, and colors.

The fabrics are Asian inspired. The fabrics are organzas, silk Charmeuse, and recycled piettes. The piettes created from recycled aluminum cans. Breton uses a company in Twain that cuts, colors, and treats the metal.

Breton says, “I do my best to protect the environment when creating my designs.” This metallic dress moments and texture are extraordinary. Breton states, “the dress movement comes from the way I weighted and draped the dress. I am so grateful it turned out so well.”

The color in this chapter is green (earth and rebirth), gold (prosperity and richness), and deep blue (continuous flow of life). The floral prints brings beauty and a new beginning to the final chapter of the story.

Breton’s chapters stay true to his aesthetics elegance. The men’s silhouettes are very on point. This collection Breton styled and designed himself. His stylist for several seasons, Montgomery Frazier The Image Guru, said, “we do not put anyone in anything that is ill-fitting. If it is ill-fitted they do not wear it. The textures and fabrics fit Breton’s catch line ‘wherever you go shine.’ The fabrics are rich, opulent, exquisite tailoring, and he is about fashion. Being here with Breton is so glamorous at Style Fashion Week with the beautiful outdoor setting and jazz music.”

Breton develops his menswear after his own experience. He states, “when I was a ballet dancer in London and on Broadway every time I lifted my arm up when wearing a suit I would lose part of my sleeve. I knew I had to figure out how to cut a suit so I do not lose part of my sleeve. I trained at Turnbull And Asser, the suit makers for the Prince of Wales. He says, “I incorporate the English traditions in my designs. I learned there with my development for the men’s suits.”

The fashion show stayed true to the designers’ aesthetic while completing the story started in New York. The beauty, tailoring, and signature detailing tell the story of hope, equality, and empowerment. Concluding with the image of renewing and shining wherever you are.

Alberto states, “I don’t have an inspiration. I see something I like and go from there.” This collection develops from photographs of dead trees. He creates the fabric print from this photograph.

This takes us on a journey through the woods with fabrics that are modern, reflective, and full of movement. This collection creates light in something so dark. He steps from his normal romantic collection. Fabrics include vegan leather was buttery. The polygon uni fabric felt like silk. Practicality in design is important to the consumer. He creates his own patterns, cut the fabric, and takes ownership of each piece created.

Alberto carries on the family tradition of elegant fashion. The understanding and appreciation of design bring sophistication glamor to women. His talent is well recognized by the fashion industry as the fashion house to watch and celebrities. His designs worn by Joy Huerta at the Grammys, Ajiona Alexus at the MTV Awards, Mariah Carey, Lauren Hill, Ashanti, and Mya.
