Beauty Tips For Autumn

Beauty Tips For Autumn

This is the beginning of a wonderful autumn season. The time for pumpkin, layers, parties, and great red carpet events. The insight to this season best beauty tips brought to you by the top in their industry. The best time to shine and show your beauty.

Hair Tips Sean James

Well, I want to first start with hair colors for fall, we are going to be seeing a lot of reds red browns, golden tones, bronde (A mix of brown and blonde highlights through brown hair). The latest trend of mushroom (ashier tones) highlighted hair should go into a rootier look with balayage vs foilyage technique.

On the red carpet, we are going to see big bouncy waves, the best way to get this look is the 1 1/4 “ curling iron by FHIheat. Center parts are back. Side parts too, use stylus hair care “stay put” To thicken up the hair. High Altitude by Stylus is great to use at the roots, or add a little “Toppik” hair fibers in your color.

The looks on the red carpet will be a lot of hair down. And classic waves with center-parted hair, like Taraji P Henson And Kim K. It’s going to be a fantastic award season.

Makeup Tips

Gia Klime, Hollywood makeup artist, just finished makeup for the Emmys’® Red Carpet has the best tips for your upcoming season parties and red carpet events.

It’s all about the dewy skin on the red carpet. Mix 3 drops of a liquid highlighter into a white color, then into your foundation then use a dewy primer. Klime loves Clarins beauty balm flash, it tightens as it prepares for the makeup. It’s also very hydrating to apply primer first. Then mix the dewy drops into the foundation. Then use a dense brush and press into the skin all over do not use the brush, use circular motions, press, and pat. This way you get coverage without cake face.

It’s about the glow. Using a dewy setting spray. Klime loves NYX Professional Makeup Make Up Setting Spray Dewy Finish. Do this and you will look red carpet ready. Add the perfect red lip. My favorite Smashbox has the best universal red stays on all day. This never gets dry. And of course, lashes are a must.

Beauty Flash Balm Unisex Balm by Clarins is a fabulous primer. It is an excellent anti-aging and lifting a balm that brightens, tightens and eliminates signs of fatigue in a flash, celebrities love this, and total glowing and dewy skin.

Beauty Tips Tavao Palomin

Hot girl/boy summer is long gone. The fall season is here and this is the best trend you will come across. Say hello to the start of living your best life.

When it comes to beauty, throw all the rules away. There’s no better time than now to live your best life. Your rules, your way, your colors. We are trained to follow new beauty trends season by season. What color is in? What formula should I try? This season, we challenge everyone to try the one trend fits all. Wear what you want, when you want. If you prefer smoky eyes, go for it. If a bold lip is your thing, wear it with pride. If a tinted moisturizer is your go-to, apply it and go! New beauty products are releasing all the time to keep up with the constantly changing trends so this season make your own and wear what you want, what makes you comfortable, and bring out your inner beauty!

Just because we said to fall out of the makeup trends this season, you should always maintain and protect your skin.

Make sure you’re applying your sunscreen daily. A favorite is the Supergoop Unseen SPF 40. The formula goes on clear so it’s great for all skin tones. It’s also lightweight so you can apply your moisturizer and makeup on top seamlessly. Buy it here https://amzn.to/33sMnyn

The best skincare in the world won’t suffice if you’re not applying it correctly. The PMD Pro is worth trying out. It’s a double-sided smart cleansing device that helps remove dirt and oil from within pores on one side while the other acts as an ActiveWarmth Facial Massage to help your skincare absorb deeper by using the SonicGlow technology and heat. The PMD cleans, lifts, firms, and tones your skin.  Buy it here https://amzn.to/2B8yk5d

Try these products and trends out this season. You’ll be glad you did!

Nail Tips Jenifer Winger

A great nail addition for having on hand or change from the toxic salon set of nails is Color Street. These are so fun and they are fabulous. I wore mine for over two weeks. You can get up to twenty nails done for each package. It is a great deal especially for little ones who want their nails done but cannot just sit still, exceptional for getting a rest from salon nails, gifts, or a night glam party. Gorgeous Ten by Jen has all the insight and specials for the upcoming glam season.

You are beautiful and bringing your beauty to each moment of life brightens your spirit and enlightens those around you. You are worth a few moments of self-care and reflection.

Emmys’® Governors Ball ~ Brilliance in Motion

Emmys’® Governors Ball ~ Brilliance in Motion

Sunday is the 71st Emmys® Prime Time hostless award ceremony. The nominees and winners will be honored with an after-party, Brilliance in Motion, at the L.A. LIVE Event Deck. This will be an evening of exceptional food, talent, and drinks. You can even enjoy a glamourous evening at home.

Home Entertaining for the Emmys®

Emmys® Brilliance Party At Home

Entertaining is such always fun. There is no better time than the Emmys®. Celebrate your favorite actor/actress, streaming shows, and mini-series.

Create a great time that involves your senses. This will engage your guests. The food is one way to really bring this to light. You can create great courses that bring all five senses to the table (recipes at the end).

Decorating is always a lot of fun. The Governors Ball is using a rich palette of eggplant purple, magenta, coral, red, and Emmy gold! These are great colors for your invitations, table accents, and backdrops use scarfs or sheer fabrics.

Add fountains for just an added touch of sound. Crystals are a perfect addition to the table setting and capture the light from candles. Farmers’ Markets have beautiful flowers to use as a nice pop of color around the room. Add extra large pillows that can be used as sitting for the guest to sit while enjoying the show.

Have the evening be the formal attire. Then make a budget for the amount one can spend on the purchase of formal evening wear. Then have a golden trophy for the winner.

Gift bags for your guests as they leave is a nice surprise. You can include a personalized label bottle of wine (in Chandler AZ Down Time Wines creates personal labels), Fuji water, Lindt chocolates, and an Emmy® of their own.

Emmys® Recipes

Hor d’oeuvres
KOBE BEEF MEATBALLS WITH ROASTED TOMATO SAUCE AND
CREAMY BECHAMEL

Serves 16
2# Ground Kobe Beef
1# Ground Veal (can be substituted with ground pork as needed)
3 C Toasted Ciabatta bread
1 C Whole milk
2 T Ground Fennel Seed
2 T Ground Caraway Seed
2 T Garlic Powder
1 T Onion Powder
¼ C Salt
¼ C Chopped Parsley
¼ C Chopped Basil
METHOD: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. With a knife, remove the crust of ciabatta bread and tear the
remaining bread into small pieces. Drizzle the torn beard with olive oil and toast in oven until lightly
golden brown. While the bread toasts, mix the ground beef, veal, and all the dry spices in a large bowl.
When the bread is toasted and dry, remove from oven and allow to cool. Once the bread is cool enough to handle, crumble the bread into a separate bowl and cover with the whole milk; set aside until milk has been fully absorbed by the ciabatta. When the bread is fully hydrated, combine the bread mixture with the beef mixture, and add the fresh parsley and basil. Mix well by hand until fully incorporated. Form the mixture into 2oz balls and place onto a baking tray. Bake the meatballs in a hot oven until dark golden brown and fully caramelized, about 10 minutes. Once baked, immerse the meatballs into the tomato sauce completely and allow to simmer until fully cooked. Once cooked through the meatballs are ready to
eat but can be left in the simmer sauce to be served later. Serve warm with an ample drizzle of the bechamel sauce.
TOMATO SAUCE:
¼ C Extra Virgin olive oil
8 cloves Garlic, finely sliced for minced
½ EA White onion, finely diced
½ C Dry white wine
12 Leaves basil, chiffonade
1 can San Marzano tomatoes, crushed
1 t ground black Pepper
1 T Kosher salt
½ T Chili flake
METHOD: In a heavy-bottomed cooking pot, warm olive oil over low heat. Once the oil is warm add the
sliced garlic and diced onion and allow to cook for 5 minutes, stirring often to ensure the onion and garlic
does not burn. When the onion and garlic are soft and fragrant, carefully add the white wine and reduce
to ¼. After the wine is reduced add the remaining ingredients and allow to simmer, stirring often, until the
sauce is thickened and smooth, approximately 1 hour. Keep the heat on low and allow the sauce to simmer
slowly for best results.
BECHAMEL:
1 C Dry white wine
4 EA Thyme sprigs
2 EA Bay leaves, fresh if available
4 EA Garlic cloves, crushed
1 EA Shallot, sliced
1 tsp black peppercorn
¼ C All-purpose flour
¼ C Unsalted butter
½ C Whole milk
½ C Heavy cream
METHOD: In a heavy-bottomed saucepot place wine, thyme, bay leaves, garlic, shallot, and black
peppercorns, and simmer on low. Reduce the mixture to ¼ of the original volume. Once reduced, strain
the mixture and place the wine back into the cooking pot. Allow the wine to continue to reduce until
almost evaporated. Roughly chop the butter and add to the wine. Keeping the heat on low, allow butter to
fully melt and then whisk the flour into the butter and wine mixture to start the roux. Continue to whisk and
cook the roux until the smell of raw flour is gone, approximately ten minutes. Combine the whole milk and
heavy cream and slowly whisk into the roux watching for any lumps that may form. Allow to simmer for another 10 minutes, adding more milk if bechamel becomes too thick.

Main Course
PRIME BEEF TENDERLOIN

Serves 12
1 EA Prime beef tenderloin
2 oz Unsalted butter
6 EA Thyme sprigs
4 EA Garlic cloves
Kosher salt
Ground black pepper
METHOD: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Season beef tenderloin with salt and pepper on all sides. Over medium-high heat in a cast-iron pan, sear beef tenderloin until golden and caramelized on all sides. Add
butter, thyme and crushed garlic to the pan and baste the beef with the frothy melted butter. Once basted
place in oven and cook until medium-rare, approximately 15 minutes. The internal temperature should be roughly 125 degrees if using a meat thermometer. Remove from oven and allow the beef to rest for at least
10 minutes before cutting and serving.

WHITE CHEDDAR POTATO GRATIN

4# Russet potato, peeled and finely sliced
6 EA Shallot, finely sliced
6 EA Garlic cloves, chopped
2 C Whole milk
4 C Heavy cream
2 T Kosher salt
2 T Thyme leaves, chopped
6 oz White cheddar, grated
4 oz Parmesan cheese, grated
METHOD: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a heavy-bottomed pot, sweat garlic and shallots until soft and fragrant. Add cream, milk, salt, and thyme leaves and reduce by half. While the milk and cream mixture is reducing, peel and slice the potatoes as thinly as possible and cover in cold water to prevent browning. Prepare an 8×10 inch heavy-bottomed casserole dish with cooking spray or butter. Arrange one layer of the sliced potatoes into the bottom of the casserole dish. Carefully cover the potatoes with the reduced cream. Sprinkle with the white cheddar and parmesan. Place the second layer of potatoes and again cover with cream mixture and grated cheeses. Continue this process the casserole dish is completely full. Add one final layer of the grated cheeses and cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil. Bake the gratin for 1 hour at 350 degrees, remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes to brown the top of the gratin.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Serves 8
1 C Baby zucchini, blanched
1 C Asparagus tips, blanched
½ C English peas, blanched
½ C Edamame, blanched
½ C Green Romanesco florets, blanched
½ C Shishito peppers, lightly grilled
8 EA Broccolini, blanched
2 heads Baby artisan lettuce, leaves picked washed
½ C Green Goddess dressing
METHOD: Prepare the vegetables as stated and cut all into bite-size pieces. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves and cut into a bowl. Combine with cut vegetables and drizzle with the green goddess dressing. Carefully toss and serve. Garnish with fresh tarragon leaves and fennel frond.

  1. Combine the brown sugar, water, and salt in a heavy-bottomed saucepan, place the pan on the stove over medium heat, cook until the caramel is dark, takes about 14 minutes.
  2. Standing back with caution add the cream and milk to the caramel. This will make the mixture seize up at first, but if you keep whisking and let it heat back up, it will combine. Bring the mixture back to boil, then turn down the heat to medium.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and cornstarch.
  4. Temper the caramel mixture with eggs yolks and cornstarch by adding a cup caramel mix to the eggs mixture, whisking constantly, then pour the egg mixture back into the pan.
  5. Increase the heat to bring this mixture to a boil and keep whisking as the custard thickens from the cornstarch, should take two minutes.
6 Remove the pan from the heat and add the butter.
  6. Strain the custard through a fine strainer to remove any big lumps that might have formed and portion the custard into ramekins.
  7. Cover the ramekins with plastic wrap and chill the custard for a least 4 hours…it’s best when you make a day ahead

  4. Chill

Rene’ Tyler ~ Sex Appeal in Las Vegas

Rene’ Tyler ~ Sex Appeal in Las Vegas

Heading to Las Vegas to shop make sure to stop at Rene’ Tyler in the Palazzo Hotel. Angela Rene’ is the principal designer and CEO. Her vision is style has no size. Women sizes 14 and above deserve beautiful quality red carpet, swimwear, every day, and eveningwear. We sit down to get to know this influential woman in her beautiful boutique in Las Vegas.

Rene’ Tyler

Her flagship store is inside the Grand Canal Shoppes in the Palazzo Hotel. This is the only plus size fashion on the Las Vegas Strip. She features an exceptional red carpet, every day, and swimwear. It is near the Sushi Samba and the glitzy escalator. The brand is a family collaboration with her son, Chase Tyler. They combined their middle names for the name in 2016.

Rene’ is so grateful for her son. He has allowed for her to achieve and create her dream. She says, “I would not be here today without him.” She turns to him during the interview to have him assist shoppers with the search for the skirt she is wearing.

Congrats on your fashion story. It is amazing to watch your growth from your 2016 runway to this beautiful store here.

Her fashion sense and approach is to make all women feel beautiful. Her fashion is seen at AMC network show, ‘Dieltand,’ worn by Orange Is The New Black actress, Laverne Cox, for the Netflix Strong Black Lead campaign, recording artist Marsha Ambrosius during Maxwell’s 50 Intimate Nights Tour, The Daily Show correspondent DulceSloan for the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and America’s Got Talent Finalist comedian Vicki Barbolak.

Rene’ Tyler Moves From LA to Vegas

She is originally from Las Vegas. She moved to LA to start her fashion line. “The time was right to move back,” she says, “it is time to open a brick and mortar.” It is important for the ability to try this fashion on and make sure it fits.

The Palazzo provides them with a great space. It is a nice convert from the previous men’s store to this beautiful plus size store. The only plus size shop on the strip. Her goal is opening in more cities.

This is a beautiful area for shopping.  I enjoyed the afternoon walking the shops. It is filled with great food, gondola rides, and entertainment. Parking is free at The Palazzo.

She does have online ordering for your fashion needs. You can shop here. Have specific needs please feel free to contact her.

Hot Curves

No one was doing plus size fashion at Los Angeles Fashion Week (LAFW). She produced her own show. This was the influencing for plus size fashion at LAFW. This fashion institution will be coming in the near future for 40+ and plus size fashion.

Rene’ Tyler Sex Appeal of Style Accessories

The accessories found in this shop are absolutely the sexiness of any personal style. You will find plus size belts, sunglasses, shoes, handbags, clutches, veils (for that last minute wedding), and shoes to complete the sex appeal for Vegas.

Rene’ personally buys each item with the focus on each woman’s personal style and current trends. She wants each person to find that unique item for their great time in Vegas from the Stellar Awards to a nice day poolside.

Rene’ Tyler Dressing Laverne Cox

Rene’s most honored fashion moment was when Cox, actress, wore her dress. The dress was sent to The Only Agency for Danielle Brooks. Cox fell in love with the dress and bought it. This was such an amazing honor to have her wear this dress with all she represents bravery, embracing, and beauty.

Rene’ Tyler Honoring Women

We first meet Rene’ at Art Hearts Fashion Week in 2016. Her runway was a hit with all in attendance. The fashion was daring, elegant, and embracing each woman’s beauty.

This tradition continues with her fashion designs for any plus size woman. Her next adventure adding 40+ for runway modeling, and her latest LAFW runway included a trans model.

Her fashion design is fabulous with personal styling for any individual. Her fashion sense and approach is to make all women feel beautiful. She incorporates using many fabrics, textures, draping, and beautiful designs.

Her inspirations include Christian Siriano, Ralph & Russo, and Zuhair Murad. This provides her insight into current trends but allows for the different and unique for every woman.

Rene’ Tyler Start to The Day

Her start to the day is coffee. It is very evident in her shop with the sign at the register saying, “No coffee, no workee [SIC].” Then she centers herself with prayer and meditation. Focusing on the day’s how, what, and when needs.

Rene’ Tyler’s Influencers

Her mother and grandmother are extremely influencing on her talent and ability to design. Her grandmother came from the south and had very little. She would sew all her children’s clothing. She put so much love and made it seem so effortless with everything she did. Rene’ said, “I bring that same love to each design I create.

My mother was there when I took home economics. I made my first pillowcase. My mother was there to assist it just helped me to see my passion for sewing. She gives me strength, determination, drive, and her personal elegant style really influences my personal style today.

Rene’ Tyler Fashion Tip

Rene’ says, “They have to have the right undergarments, the right bra, panties, and Spanx. This provides a nice smoothing. It takes the lines away. This is the moisturizer of fashion.” Of course this day I forgot my Spanx.  It is all in the details.

Rene’ Tyler Most Proud in Her Brand

Rene’ is extremely proud of Hot Curves, the first plus size runway at Art Hearts Fashion and Style Fashion Week. This is such a great honor to bring plus fashion design to the runway.

Her most proud moment is making the cover of The Las Vegas Review. She is still beaming from this moment. She did not know she was going to be on the cover. This was such an honor because there was a time when her ancestor could not come down the strip to gamble, work, eat, or explore. The African American performers had to come through the back door to perform here. She is the only African American woman-owned business at the Grande Canal Shoppe.

This is an honor to cover the journey with Rene’ Tyler Plus Size Fashion from LA to Las Vegas. She brings sex appeal and many influencing firsts to fashion for all women.

Maggie Barry Runway Style

Her friends, family, and press gathered at the Moda gallery for drinks and conversation, while the models and stylist prepared for the runway. Beauty Warrior, directed by Adamme Sosa, planned the styling for the show with Maggie Barry. Adamme was so excited to work with Maggie who is a trendsetter who steps outside the box. Maggie and Adamme created the seventies take back with a New Original Work (NOW).

The styling was a timeless cutting edge look. Creating individual lashes gave a real Barbie feel, the color was monochromatic, and the makeup final touch with a red lip styled after Marilyn Monroe.

Adamme, judge and winner on Global Beauty Masters, brings great insight and skill to makeup.   He recommends bronzers and moisturizer as a key to successful makeup. The moisturizer sets the skin up for success. Bronzers whether male or female is the timeless piece that brings the skin a sun-kissed look. He was honored and excited to work with Maggie Barry on her Now collection.

Elevate Your New Year’s Party with a Crowd-Pleasing Grazing Table

Elevate Your New Year’s Party with a Crowd-Pleasing Grazing Table

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and the last holiday party. What a great time of the year. The best New Year’s Eve celebration is perfect for a grazing table with little work. This will be a great way to let the chef enjoy the evening events too. Kristen Seymour presents a step-by-step guide to the perfect party.

If you want the food at your holiday party or corporate event to be opulent and impressive—but still inviting—a grazing table just might be the answer to your culinary conundrum. And as a bonus, you probably won’t even have to cook.

This hot trend in entertaining isn’t exactly new. In medieval times, palace feasts often featured tables piled high with layers of food for guests to sample at their leisure. These days, grazing tables are more likely to feature local cheeses than, say, roasted peacock. But a year or two ago, a modern take on the grazing table began to take hold in Australia and New Zealand. Now it’s taking the U.S. by storm.

What, exactly, is a grazing table?

Typically, it’s a table (although it can also be a platter, a counter, a board, or any large, flat surface) with lots of visually appealing and accessible food. Most items aren’t contained within bowls or baskets but are instead arranged in piles that lavishly spill into each other. It’s artfully disheveled. Decadent, but relaxed. It’s a really flexible concept that can work for a wide variety of events, numbers of guests, locations, themes, and budgets. In a work setting, for instance, a grazing table is a great way to incorporate office snacks you already have on hand without the need to bring in or buy a ton of serveware and utensils.

Grazing Table New Year's Menu
New Year’s Grazing Table Menu

And if all that isn’t enough, one of the best aspects of a grazing table is the low maintenance set up, which allows the host to spend time with their guests. After all, parties are much more fun to throw when you actually get to join them. Interested in giving a grazing table a go? Here’s how to build your own for your next office party or gathering at home.

Planning for Your Party

The first decision to make is the shape and size of the table. Will it be large enough to hold everything you want to include? According to New Zealand caterer Sarah Jones, who was at the forefront of this trend, you can expect a table that’s one square meter (which is about three feet by three feet) to fully feed around 15 people and allow around 30 to graze. However, you can use layers to fit more food or add decorative elements to take up more surface area if the table you have is too large.

And don’t forget about location. Your grazing table should be situated in a way that makes it easy for multiple guests to access it at once, encouraging mingling while snacking. But you don’t want it to be in the way of traffic (or dancing!). If you’ll have small children or pets at the party, you might also want to use an elevated surface to keep snacks away from little hands and curious noses.

Now, onto the food!

With a grazing table, you don’t want to choose food only for its tastiness, although, that’s an important factor. You should also think about the aesthetics. Brightly colored fruit and veggies, breads and crackers with different textures and shapes, meat slices that can be folded artfully, and vibrant dips and sauces all add to the visual appeal of the table.

Be sure to pick up a variety of each type of food. For instance, when it comes to cheese, consider a soft Brie, a hard and nutty Manchego, and a sharp Cheddar—and then think about what would pair well with each type. This planning isn’t just for your shopping list, but also for your layout because you will want to make it easy for your guests to distinguish which cracker and spread complements the cheese they just sliced.

How To Create A Grazing Table New Year's
New Year’s Grazing Table Creation

And remember, this can be whatever you want it to be, so although the cheese, charcuterie, and crudités route is a common one, you can branch out in any way you’d like. Make big, brightly hued exotic fruits the main feature, layer your table with cakes and candies, or pick a sampling of easy-to-eat snacks from your favorite tapas restaurant. Living a healthy life? You can keep it vegan, paleo, or sugar-free, no problem. As long as you fill the space with food your guests can easily enjoy, the sky is the limit.

Creating Your Grazing Table

While it may look haphazard, a well-curated grazing table is anything but. It’s vital that you leave yourself plenty of time for the set-up process alone. Rushing to add the finishing touches as your guests arrive is no way to enhance that effortlessly chic atmosphere that a grazing table provides.

Step 1: Write out a list of all the foods you want to put out

You’d be surprised at how easy it is to forget what you’ve purchased until the party is over. A list will help you in step two. Consider whether you’ll be buying and preparing each item, or if you’ll go the corporate catering route instead.

Step 2: Plot your table

Time to decide what platters and other surfaces to put your food on. In keeping with the casually decadent feel, leave your linen tablecloth in the closet and, instead, stick with the surface of a nice, clean table, or cover it with kraft or butcher-block paper.

You can use baskets and cutting boards to organize more unruly foods, and of course, you’ll need bowls for dips or spreads. Adding a big, beautiful bowl of punch is a great way to take up space and add a pop of color, and now is the time to decide where any larger containers will go. That said, resist the urge to separate everything too precisely. You’re going for organized chaos, so just this once go ahead and let the grapes mingle with the prosciutto.

If you opt to decorate with non-food items, this is also a good opportunity to set out larger embellishments. Get creative with greenery and flowers, fresh herbs, whole fruits and veggies, unscented candles, framed art or signs, vases—anything that works with your theme and adds a bit of visual interest will increase the appeal of your grazing table.

Step 3: Use layers to create height

You can use cake stands, wine boxes, or just about anything else you have handy to add dimension to your table, but don’t use everything you have. Just a couple elements should do the trick. Place larger, more eye-catching foods—such as large cheese wheels or a pile of big brownies—on raised surfaces, and spread them out around your table. If you have large amounts of one item, such as salami slices, arrange them in two or three places around the table to break things up.

Step 4: Fill it in

Add your remaining foods to the empty spaces, making a point to separate similar items from one another. Place foods people may want to pair in close proximity (you could surround a wheel of Brie with pear slices, a crusty baguette, and a jar of fig jam, for example). The ideal grazing table will encourage people to move from one end to the other, sampling bits and bites from all areas.

Once you add your main foods, fill in the remaining spaces with handfuls of nuts, dried fruit, berries, pieces of dark chocolate, or any other small foods you’d like to sprinkle throughout. You can also scatter flowers or other decorations if you have room. Though the design is completely up to you, a traditional grazing table leaves very little bare space, so don’t be shy about adding more. Abundance is a theme that’s hard to overdo.

Step 5: Take a tour

Approach the table as if you were a guest and make sure everything is accessible (can you reach for that biscuit behind the candle without burning your hand?) and inviting. Slice a corner of each block of cheese and tear off a few chunks of the baguette to encourage guests to dig right in.

Step 6: Snap a picture before your guests dig in!

The photogenic nature of the grazing table is inversely proportional to the amount of noshing that’s been done, so ‘gram it for posterity’s sake right away.

Elsa Hosk Wearing Fantasy Bra

Elsa Hosk is a 29 year old Swedish model. She did spend time playing basketball in Sweden. Her  modeling career includes Dior, H&M, and Guess to name a few. Hosk began modeling at the age of 14 in Sweden. She moved to New York and signed with IMG Models. Her modeling with VS began in 2011. Hosk officially announced as an angel in 2015.

She is honored to wear this fantasy bra because of the glitz, shimmer, and shine. Her makeup will compliment the glamorous bra.

Creating the Fantasy Bra

This year’s fantasy bra is by Atelier Swarovski. It has 2,100 Swarovski Diamonds and topaz that is responsibly sourced. It is a sterling silver cage. The body chain is comprised of Topaz with the center stone being a pear shaped 2.03 carat Atelier Swarovski Created Diamond. This bra took 930 hours to create the hand set bra. It has over 71 carats.

This is tied with Claudia Schiffer’s fantasy bra in 1996 (the first year for the runway) for 1 million dollars. The most expensive fantasy bra is Gisele Bündchen 2000, Red Hot Fantasy Bra at $15 million.

This year, for the first time, a similar fantasy bra will be open for purchase on Nov. 29, 2018. It will have Swarovski crystals for $250 at select Victoria’s Secret locations.

Chocolate Scrumptious and Delicious ~ Sweet Shops

Chocolate Scrumptious and Delicious ~ Sweet Shops

Chocolate is a scrumptious addition to any meal, from appetizers, to main dishes, and especially desserts. Road tripping across the US we found some exceptional chocolate treats and so much more.

Milk Bar NYC

MIlk Bar NYC Road Trip 4Chion Lifestyle 1
Milk Bar NYC

Super excited to try crack pie and coffee for breakfast. This is a planned find in NYC. Watching Chef’s Table on Netflix. I knew I needed to try Milk Bar. This is Christine Tosi’s and is part of the Manhattan-based Momofuku restaurant. This is my first stop in the morning. The little shop has great cookies, cakes, pies, and bagel bombs. I order an iced coffee, bagel bomb with spinach, and crack pie. The bagel bomb is warm and filled with spinach and cheese. It is a nice bite for the start of touring NYC.  I save the crack pie for a little later, but it is delicious. The filling is something like a custard, but buttery. The oat crust is light and flaky. This is a must stop and see.

Lagomarcino’s Confectionery Moline Illinois

Lagomarcino’s Confectionery in Moline IL is worth a diversion on any road trip. It is operated by 4th generation of Tom Lagomarcino Sr. They received a James Beard Award in 2006.

This 110-year-old soda shop is a true find in the middle of nowhere. They have the true old-fashioned feel. The have a soda counter, sandwich shop, homemade ice cream, and beautiful chocolates. The originals owners meet at a soda shop and married in 1949. They had six children and they were famous for their fudge sauce. The shop started reselling the fudge sauce with their 100-year anniversary.

Taking my father here was such a treat. He recalled the stories of going to soda shop his uncle owned as a child. He talked about Ironport soda, a Utah tradition. It is a cross between root beer and Caribbean spices. He went for the hot fudge sundae (a surprise at the bottom was more fudge).

I went for their famous chocolate shake. We took salted caramel milk chocolates, dark marble truffle, pumpkin fudge chocolate, coconut dark chocolate, tiramisu dark chocolate truffle, and orange peel for the road. A few went home to mother.

The decor in the store is old newspaper headliners. Handcrafted mahogany booths to enjoy your sandwich, soda, and dessert. The had beautiful marbled truffles. It was a true sensory experience with the sights, sounds, and smells. They were fabulous.

Sweet Shoppe Candy Store Flagstaff Arizona

Exploring Route 66 in the infamous town of Flagstaff AZ there is the Sweet Shoppe Candy Store. This fudge shop with a lollipop garden, taffy, homemade fudge, covered apples with a vast variety, and scrumptious chocolates.

This store has many great old-fashion fun with a great modern twist. It is located on 15 E Aspen Ave right off Route 66. They have so much to select from. Foodie Ellie had a big interest in the fudge but went with a sprinkled covered marshmallow.

They have homemade gelato. The chocolate is creamy and sweet. The best was the chocolate covered caramel (homemade there) with sea salt sprinkled on top.

Kilwins Chocolate Wilmington NC

This is a must stop when visiting Wilmington You can smell the sweetness down the street. This is just the start of the sensory experience provided. When entering the story your eyes are drawn to all the beautiful handcrafted chocolates and sweets. Located in the Historic Downtown. Ice cream is a popular treat in Wilmington. Kilwins makes bomb waffle cones, exceptional chocolates, and it is worth the wait.

They make their own ice cream from their original recipe with 40 premium, unique and delicious flavors including Mackinac Island Fudge. They use local farms for ingredients. The chocolate creations are amazing.

Sweet Country Charm Payson Arizona

The Sweet Country Charm Candy Shop is a quant fudge shop in Payson Arizona is a sweet location. Taking the drive up from Phoenix to go from the Sonoran Desert to the high desert landscapes. It is a beautiful drive. This shop is located on the Beeline Highway. Entering the shop it is a location to meet and enjoy the treats.

The shop was a great location for local crafters to sell their artisan work. Customers would bring up the fudge shop that hd been there. Rebecca Acord, the shop owner, decided to take a few cooking classes and incorporate the fudge and treats with the art.

This sweet treat reminded me of fudge at Christmas as a child. It is creamy and smooth. The aroma of chocolate and sweet are immediate when entering the shop. The visual is colorful and enticing. The sounds of community members talking about local news fills the room. The touch of the fudge is not crumbly but firm. The taste is incredible sweet and luscious. The varieties to choose from are a great treat to take home to enjoy later.

Battle Ground Sweet Shoppe & Bakery Battle Ground Washington Permanently Closed

Just off the main street in Battle Ground is Battle Ground Sweet Shoppe & Bakery. Main street is very much the center of shopping local artisans and produce. You can enjoy a local bar, restaurant, and shopping exceptional creations and antiques. It is a great stroll of all that is old town in a small town.

Just off your stroll is the local sweet shop. This shop has a great selection of bar cookies, cupcakes, cakes, brownie, ice cream bar, hot cocoa bombs, and more. Would not be a Pacific Northwest business without great coffee to enjoy with the desserts.

You are surrounded by baked sweets. There are so many to choose from you do not know what to choose. The pandemic has changed how many in the state are able to enjoy dinning. The treats are delicious and hand crafted. The location can manage weddings, catering, and just a sit down for dessert and coffee as you shop.

The atmosphere is a cozy and warm from the rainy winter day, this soon turned to 12″ of snow. The desserts went well with dinner. We enjoyed brownie, caramel toffee bar, and red velvet pop cakes.

Honeymoon Sweets Bakery & Dessert Bar Tempe Arizona

The honeymoon maybe over but the bakery and sweet creations continue at Honeymoon Sweets Bakery & Dessert Bar. This is a locally owned and operated business. Co-Owners and Bakers Tim and Joan O’Connor met in culinary school. They create cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, tarts, and petit sweets.

They cater to major corporations, drop-by visitors, and special-event guests. The shop has a great display of goodies for the public to stop by for a treat or two. This is a fun place to stop for a treat or two or dessert for a dinner party. The treats are as tasty as they are beautiful.

Abby Girl Sweets Cupcakes

Cincinnati Ohio, my niece and I stop by Abby Girl Sweets Cupcakes. This was a delightful find in the lobby of the Hilton Netherlands Hotel lobby.  This little shop has a variety of sweet and moist cupcakes. We enjoyed the coconut, black raspberry chip, red velvet, and peanut butter cup. They were perfect after a long of competition at the USA Gymnastics event.

This business is owned and operated by Nathan & Andrea Thompson (husband and wife). The name comes from their daughter, Abby Girl, she is the top taster for the cupcakes. The cupcakes are sweet and well-flavored.

This was a wonderful road trip in the Midwest especially seeing family. It is always good connecting with your brother and his family. They have six fantastic children. Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes With White Tea Extract to the rescue it saved the hotel white towels. It was a wonderful time traveling through the Midwest. There is plenty to see and do from art to culture and outdoor adventures. It is a beautiful part of the country with friendly people.

Fudge Shop

Getting to the top of Mount Lemmon is a great little spot to shop, eat, and get a little sweet treat. This general store has some great snacks, a few souvenirs, and fresh fudge. The tradition of a sweet shop on your adventures that are so fun and memorable.
