Queen Elizabeth II’s drop scones recipe sent to President Dwight David Eisenhower, on January 24, 1960. Eisenhower enjoyed the drop scones while staying at Balmoral.
The Queen was a simple eater. She ate a similar menu each week. Therefore all new menu items required the Queen approve.
Drop Scones Ingredients
The drop scones also known as scotch pancake is a treat to enjoy for breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea. Therefore there is a a way to best eat the drop scones with clotted butter (a favorite of the Queen) on top of the jam, fresh fruit, or maple syrup.
Caster SugarCaster Sugar
Drop Scones
4 teacups flour (3/4 cup= 1 teacup) (360g) 4 tablespoons caster sugar (56.7g)(sugar with a texture between regular sugar & powdered sugar you can create this sugar by pulsing 1 cup(128g) white sure in a blender) 2 teacups milk (180g) 2 whole eggs (100g) 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) (8.4g) 3 teaspoons cream of tartar (14.3g) 2 tablespoons melted butter (28.3g)
Beat eggs, sugar, and about half the milk together, add flour, and beat well together adding remainder of milk as required, also bicarbonate and cream of tartar, fold in the melted butter. Do not let the mixture stand to long before cooking. Place on a hot griddle (375ƒ) for cooking (this is key to success with these scones). These are thicker and smaller than American pancakes. Serves 16 calories 268 per serving.

74th Emmys Moments
Abbott Elementary took home 5 Emmys although they used the money from nomination marketing to buy school supplies for educator’s classroom. Sheryl Lee Ralph captures the audience by singing, “I am an endangered species, but I sing no victim’s song. I am a woman. I am an artist. And I know where my voice belongs.” (Endangered Species’ song by Dianne Reeves) It is the best speech of the night.
Geena Davis receives the Governors Award. In the press room she states, “You know, tonight’s about honoring the best of television. And as you know, as Lizzo knows, television can often directly impact how people see themselves and judge their value in the world.”October Davis’ Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is holding #girlsneedstem.
Lizzo finally has her childhood dream come true. She makes many dreams come true with her dream of, “When I was a little girl, all I wanted to see was me in the media, someone fat like me, black like me, beautiful like me.” She continues discussing her “big girls,” “They’re not that unique. They just don’t get the platform. Telling stories, let’s just tell more stories.”
Thank you was the statement of the night. Sheryl Lee Ralph, “thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” Lizzo states, “thank you to the Emmys and the Emmys voters, first of all. Geena Davis in the press room states, “thank you all for your support.” Above all it is gratitude we all have after being home with a pandemic. As Kenan Thompson states, “TV is all we have, from Netflix and chill, to Paramount+ and eating dinner alone. The greatest invention in the history of mankind.”

Tadashi Shoji embraces colorful optimism and soars to visionary heights. This spring 2023’s collection encourages us to take off into the wind and soar.
SHEATH DRESS WITH ONE SHOULDER CAPE SLEEVE
Inspiration Tadashi Shoji
The refreshing bright collection brings the rush of fashion seasons coming back and style key focus as we return to life. Spring is in the air as each piece walks the runway.
Shoji describes the collection, “as a true celebration in flight, inspired by the power of peace, grace, and hope. Because when doves fly, peace is within reach, and hope is infinite.”
All the Details
Shoji presents a collection of wind-blown shapes and streamlined silhouettes brimming with colorful optimism. Pieces include an ombré-hued gown crafted from bias-cut strips of crinkle chiffon, a black flared midi dress with allover appliquéd painterly flowers, and a mystic blue asymmetric gown with style lines abstracted from a dove’s in-flight silhouette. The crinkle chiffon creates beautiful texture and movement.
