Makeup Tips for 2023 ~ Award Season

Makeup Tips for 2023 ~ Award Season

Makeup tips for award season are here. We are starting off with the Golden Globes. The night was filled with glam, fame, and talent. Welcome back Golden Globes, Hollywood’s Party.

Happy New Year and welcome back beautiful friends We are back for the iconic Golden Globes on their 80th anniversary! Christmas may be over, but the Elves are here to stay. Today’s glam is all about e.l.f. Cosmetics. The Iconic UK brand has always been a staple in my make-up kit for all my shows. I love that this brand is affordable, vegan, cruelty-free, and superb quality.

Makeup Supplies

This year is about boosting the complexion and being filter free. My must haves for radiant complexion in 2023 is:

  • e.l.f.® Glow Up Primer
  • e.l.f.® Halo Glow Liquid Filter
  • e.l.f.® Cosmetics High-Definition Powder
  • e.l.f.® Powder Blush Palette
  • e.l.f.® Cosmetics Glossy Lip Stain
  • Kiss Lashes® Pret-A- Porter

Makeup Steps

So, let’s get right to it. I am going to show you how to achieve this perfect filterless look.

The first thing we are going to do is apply the “Glow Up Primer.” Yes ladies, finally a primer that is clean, light weight, nourishes and moisturizes. It is infused with hyaluronic acid and goji berry. The secret to this long-lasting glow look is apply the primer first, followed by your moisturizer.

Next step is to apply “Halo Glow Liquid Filter,” which is filled with squalene and hyaluronic acid, this gives you glowing skin. You are going to apply e.l.f. Cosmetics beauty blender or buffing foundation brush. When applying you are going to use the “stippling effect brush” by tapping it into the skin until blended. After applying the foundation, it is that time to bake and set with the setting powder. Yes, that is right “powder.” The difference is e.l.f. Cosmetics’ High-Definition Powder is loose, finely milled, and infused with sapphire particles to give a perfect soft glow, and blurs imperfections. This will give you that “selfie” ready look always.

Lastly, to finish this look, apply blush and bronzer using the powder blush palette by e.l.f. Cosmetics. This gives those cheekbones the perfect contour. I love e.l.f. Cosmetics glossy lip stain in a “fiery red” infused with Jojoba oil to give the perfect hydration and long-lasting lip. Next, I love using the Kiss Lashes from the masterpiece collection in “Pret-A- Porter.” These give you the perfect volume and eye definition.

Now let’s get ready for our red-carpet selfies!

Glass Skin It is It! ~ Oscar® Glam

Glass Skin It is It! ~ Oscar® Glam

Glass Skin it is it! We welcome Gia Klime’ with her glam and beauty tips. The focus is glowing glass skin.

No Masks Makeup is Back With Glass Skin

Welcome back to the Oscars® everyone! Blessed to be back and without the masks.
I am ready to share with you my behind the scenes techniques to achieve that glass skin look.
As a makeup artist & skin educator my focus is all about the skin baby. So let’s win with some of
my must have products ladies. Get ready to take notes because I am going to let you in on all
the secrets to achieve that glass skin. Let’s go!

Achieving Glass Skin

Achieving glass skin is hard to achieve, so here’s my tips on how to make your skin look
flawless, smooth, and yes “like” glass. First step for my queens is skin prep! Exfoliate the skin, then
apply Peach & Lily Glass Skin Serum all over (rated 5 stars for top refining serum). Step 2-
Apply Clarins Extra Firming Serum, this is spanx for the face ladies, it instantly firms & visibly
tightens. I am obsessed! Step 3- Our goal is to keep the skin natural in order to achieve that
“glass skin”. So we need to go in with a tinted moisturizer (CC cream or BB cream) if you have
clear skin, or for a full coverage foundation we want to aim for Dewy finish, matte has got to go.
Many have heard of the term “baking” the skin that is a term used for applying powder to
create a more mattified look. In this case, dewy skin and powder do not mix. In fact the goal is to
plump the skin and give it that sun kissed natural glow. To set the look, we are going to add the
Peach and Lily Glass Veil Mist. This product will drown in your skin in hydration like a big
glass of water.. It’s that good ladies.

Last Step to Glass Skin

The last step ladies is very important so stay with me! This is the home run to glass skin,
apply 2-3 drops of Josie Maran Argan Oil – rub it into your hands to warm up the product then
gently pat it on your cheeks and forehead two times and you’re done, and don’t forget the plump
lips ladies. My favorite product for lip plumping is by Too Faced Cosmetics, they are available
in multi-shades rated five stars . These are all my hidden gems and techniques to achieve the
“Glass Skin” look. Thank you with all my heart to 4Chion Lifestyle for another year at the Oscars®.

Halloween Kills ~ A Generational Affair EXCLUSIVE

Halloween Kills ~ A Generational Affair EXCLUSIVE

Halloween Kills is a generational affair. Jamie Lee Curtis attends the red carpet in Los Angeles as her mother’s Psycho character, Marion Crane. The Halloween films spans three generations (more than 40 years) of Laurie Strode and Michael Myers.

Jamie Lee Curtis Halloween Kills Red Carpet

Halloween Series Synopsis

Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again (IMBD).

Series Synopsis

Halloween Kills is the continuing saga of Myers and Strode in the next thrilling chapter of the Halloween Series. It is recommended to watch Halloween 2018 before heading to the theatre, Sean James (Hairstylist to the Stars).

Halloween Kills brings Curtis’ character, Laurie Strode, three generations together for a final confrontation with Myers (masked figure who has haunted Strode for four decades) on Halloween night.

Curtis states regarding the film, “It’s going to be very exciting. People will be shocked. People are going to be agitated by this movie, in a way that I think they’re not expecting. That to me makes a great sequel. . . To all those people that love these movies, Happy Halloween.” (EPK.TV)

Halloween Kills Styling (EXCLUSIVE)

Creating Curtis into Strode takes a team. Sean James, hairstylist for Curtis, takes this powerful beautiful woman from her strong representation of being “true to herself” to Strode, traumatized by Myers for decades.

Red Carpet Styling

Halloween Kills U.S. film screening, at the TCL Chinese Theatre is a costume party. Curtis dresses like her mother, Janet Leigh, in her famous character, Marion Crane, from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film, Psycho. The styling did not miss a beat down to the wig created by James, using FHI products (see discount below). The struggle was real as wigs are in short supply because of the pandemic.

The search for Scarlett Johansson’s wig from the film Hitchcock was not located. The high and low search turns to a golden blonde colored wig. James states, “I could not find a golden wig anywhere. They kept showing me Marilyn Monroe wigs and platinum blonde wigs. Finally one was located that was as close as possible during this time.”

The wig was the wrong cut and texture. The next process was to cut and style the wig into the bubble (even Barbie has a wig that is the bubble style) style of her mother. James did his magic on the wig with FHI Heat Stylus High Altitude and FHI HEAT Platform Bounce Pro Curler to create the perfect look that Janet Leigh inspired in the 1960s.

The red carpet creation is completed with a bloody shower curtain.

Past Movie Styling

James has been doing Curtis’ hair since 1995. Curtis brought her daughter into Fred Segal Salon. She asked for James to do her daughter’s hair. Soon Curtis asked James, “What would you do with my hair?” James states, “I suggested we chop it all off. Then we had different versions of her hair.”

Halloween H2O we brought hair color to the shorter style. This change was a concern for Curtis. She was doing Activia Yogurt at the same time. It is important to stay true and honest to her audience and fans. Curtis was honest about her hair color. She was on Oprah stating the way Hollywood distorts imperfect beauty. The More Magazine article shows all the secrets of styling, stylus, and hairstyles as well as what Hollywood is and the falsification of people’s image.

The color change was a turn from her natural hair color. Making coloring difficult Curtis does not sit still for more than 20 minutes. The concept of processing color every three weeks to cover the natural gray was absurd to her. She hates having her hair colored.

Halloween Kills Press

James says, “It is so exciting doing all of the press for the movie. Going to Venice Film Festival with Curtis for the world premiere, James Corden, Kelly Clarkson, and Rachel Ray Show. It is wonderful watching Curtis shine with this new movie. I cannot wait for everyone to see it. It is a fantastic horror film. It is really a wonderful reveal of the town of Haddonefield, Illinois. I can hardly wait for the third part, Halloween Kills.

Excited to see this movie this weekend. You see your local theatre listings or go to Peacock TV for streaming options. Post your movie review here.

Academy Awards ~ Winners, Fun, & Fashion

Academy Awards brings back the red carpet and the award show in person. The night is filled with winners, fun, and fashion. This is different and strange from the traditional Oscars®. The locations is at Union Station not the Dolby Theatre and only 200 guests in appearance.

Academy Award Red Carpet

The men rocked this red carpet this year. Many took the traditional black tux but some took a non-tradtional look with colorful suits including one set of nominees wearing similar gold and black suits.

There is a lot of large puffy sleeves on the red carpet fashion. This is such a joyous time after a year of very little fashion shows and red carpet. The looks are personal and styled for a dramatic look. This was a great time to get dressed up in glam after a year of leisure wear and masks. Yeah for the lipstick, missed seeing lipstick this last year.
