Award Season Underway ~ SAG Awards Nominations

Screen Actors Guild Awards announce nominees for the 24th annual award ceremony for, “industry’s most prized honors. The only televised awards show to exclusively honor performers, it presents thirteen awards for acting in film and television.” This year’s SAG nominees bring the top in film and television to the nomination and Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year Morgan Freeman, critically acclaimed actor, will receive the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award. This award presentation for outstanding achievement in fostering the finest ideals of acting. Freeman represents outstanding achievement for his ability to bring the best ideals throughout his acting career.

Freeman’s acting brought the following nominations and awards for:

Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role in “Million Dollar Baby.” Academy
Award nomination in 1987 for Best Supporting Actor for “Street Smart,”
Best Actor for “The Shawshank Redemption”

Winter Time ~ Your Hands and Feet Care

Winter time always brings a new set of challenges for your hands and feet care. The air is dryer and many times your hands and feet become dry. Heels often crack during the winter months. This is the time to take care of your hands and feet to prevent infections and dry skin.

There are many ways to keep your hands and feet luxurious and beautiful. The following are a few steps to keep your skin protected (this is your body’s largest organ):

Cleaning chores wear gloves to protect your skin from chemicals. This prevents drying and burns.
- Surgical gloves work well and are disposable to protect against germs with reuse
- Wash hands well after cleaning
- When completed with chores take a few moments to rub a good lotion into your hands, fingers, and cuticle. We recommend Heaven to Earth (H2E) Spa Collection Coconut Lime Verbena. It is an office favorite.
Bath time at bath time use olive oil before your bath. This will seal moisture in your hands and feet. Right after your bath make sure to the moisturizer with a good lotion to seal in moisture. Coconut oil has essential vitamin oils leaving your radiant silky skin creating harmony and replenishment to the body.
Gloves wearing gloves prevent the need for using sanitizer when in public as well as keeping the cold dry air from your hands. Use cotton gloves at night. Moisture your hands with Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Hand Cream and wear with gloves during the night.
Scrub using a nice sugar scrub with coconut oil will help exfoliate the top layer of skin and opens the pores. Gently rub the sugar scrub in a circular motion and rinse with lukewarm water.
Manicure and Pedicure keeping up on your manicure and pedicures during the winter months. This will keep your heels and cuticle healthy. Always a fun nail color for the holidays is fabulous. This year Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show had many moments to cherish and a few to anguish over. The runway filmed last week in Shanghai China and aired on CBS a week later filled with the latest lingerie creations by Olivier Rousteing, creative director and collaboration of Balmain. He took a hard edge in some of the fashion while others were goddess feeling.

The fashion show brings top models and celebrities to an exotic location to present the best Victoria’s Secret has to offer in the upcoming year. It is a great holiday gift for any person on your list. This season the runway had the following looks:

Punk Angel: Inspired by the spirit of the 1980’s Punk scene this Collection features leather, lace, metal, tartan, fishnets, and leopard prints.
Porcelain Angel: Seaside vibes from the shores of the Mediterranean and South of France. The girls are modern, young, sexy.
A Winter’s Tales: An angel’s snowy fairytale featuring bold, colorful elements borrowed from Finland’s Lapland.
Millennial Nation (Pink): Fresh, fun, sexy.

Goddesses: Fragile, ethereal and feminine. Transparent, diaphanous fabrics draped to create soft and slow movement, the effect of being underwater.
Nomadic Adventure: Prints, silhouettes and beading techniques inspired by indigenous African cultures.

The evening filled with beauty, entertainment, and sexy fashion. The styling was very similar throughout the collections. Soft waves, light makeup for a very feminine feel. The looks included:

This year’s fantasy bra was feminine and elegant. It is included in the Champagne Nights collection. It took almost 350 hours to create and embellished with nearly 6,000 precious gemstones.(Victoria’s Secret)” The bra creation is by world-renowned jeweler Mouawad. This 2 million dollar bra is handset with diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz worn by Lais Ribeiro for the famous runway.

The models walked the runway serenaded Harry Styles, Miguel, Jane Zhang, Leslie Odom Jr. and Yundi Li. The performance list was missing Katy Perry who had Visa issues.

Gigi Hadid, Victoria’s Secret model was not on the runway due to Visa issues as well. Alessandra Ambrosio closes out the runway and it is very fitting as this is her last runway show with Victoria’s Secret angels.

This year’s runway did have a slip and fall that did air on CBS during the show. Ming Xi, came down the runway waving her hands in the air, encouraging the audience to get louder. She is happy to walk in front of her family and hometown crowd. Her heel caught in her skirt, and she fell to the ground. Xi gathered her gigantic flowered costume and tried to recover, Brazilian model Gizele Oliveira assisted with getting her back on her feet. Xi gracefully completed the runway and pose.

Winter Hair Care For a Glamorous Holiday

There is always the sun, wind, cold, and wet weather to contend with in the winter months. This brings stress and damage to your hair.

Fantasy Bra Champagne Nights ~ Lais Ribeiro

This year Victoria’s Secret much-anticipated fantasy bra is champagne nights. This 2 million dollar bra is handset with diamonds, yellow sapphires, and blue topaz will be worn by Lais Ribeiro for the famous runway.

Robeiro a Brazilian model that began her modeling career a year after giving birth. She quickly became an international model. She started modeling with Victoria’s Secret in 2015. She will wear the Dream Angels Demi bra as the final runway model in Shanghai, China. You can view the runway on CBS Nov. 28, 2017, at 10/9c PM.

The Dream Angels collection will feature the champagne simmering tones styled, The fantasy bra is “glamorous and glittering and weighing more than 600 carats, the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra took almost 350 hours to create and is embellished with nearly 6,000 precious gemstones.(Victoria’s Secret)” The bra is created by world-renowned jeweler Mouawad. This jeweler’s creation has added style since 1890. They have five Guinness World Records. They are the official partner for this year’s fashion show.

Victoria’s Secret fashion show presents a beautiful runway with various collections. “Victoria’s Secret is the leading specialty retailer of lingerie and beauty products, dominating its field with modern fashion-inspired collections, prestige fragrances, body care, celebrated supermodels and world-famous runway shows.”Victoria’s Secret, a lingerie company started by Roy Raymond. He set up the store after being embarrassed to buy lingerie for his wife. It is the place to create a very intimate and personal style.

Last years fantasy bra worn by Jasmine Tookes valued at 3 million. This bra is included in the Bright Night Angel collection included the $3 million dollars. Previous Victoria’s Secret Angels who have worn the Fantasy Bra include Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Tyra Bank, and more.
